Picture Me Dance

A collaboration project together with the contemporary dancer Marit Loe Bjørnstad. It’s a performance in pictures and it's planned to become an exhibition of sequential art and animation.

The exhibition will consist of three dance sequences, each aproach the presentation of the dance different in how the dance is comressed or simplified to tell the motions or story. The dances is based on Marits methods of working, imprvisation is a large part of that, and all the dances are created out of dance session of improvisation through a varity of aproaches.

Part 1, My Old Kimono, is partly finished the autumn 2012 and will have its premiére at Oktoberdans 21. of Oktober in Bergen. This dance emerges from an old family cloth, an asian Kimono in silk. The dance is personal, a portrait, with a cloth that carries a part of her family identity. The dance focuses on the realistic motion, and we have made a contemporary dance where the audience can dvell on the motions in real time, as it was static images. The silk adds motion to her movements which shows the complexity of the realism in the presentation.

The project will consist of three acts all in all.
